DrySpool Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By installing or using the DrySpool Android app you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the DrySpool Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or continue to use the app.

2. What DrySpool is

DrySpool is an Android app for 3D-printing hobbyists, published by NoobVenture and built by gamenoob92. It is a local-only inventory tool for managing filament spools, with features including a predictive moisture model, drying-session tracking, QR-labelled storage locations, and (where supported) auto-fill from Bambu Lab RFID tags. The app is provided as-is, with no service-level guarantee.

3. Licence to use

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use DrySpool on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial filament-management use. All intellectual property in the app — including its source code, design, written content, and embedded assets — remains the property of NoobVenture.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where Norwegian law expressly permits it.
  • Redistribute, sublicense, sell, or otherwise commercialise the app or any modified version of it.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
  • Use the app to infringe any third party’s rights, including by ingesting or printing labels that infringe trademarks or copyrights.
  • Attempt to bypass any future paid feature or in-app purchase mechanism.

5. In-app purchases

Future versions of DrySpool may offer optional in-app purchases — for example a one-time unlock that lifts a free-tier limit. Any such purchases are processed entirely by Google Play and governed by Google’s terms. NoobVenture does not handle or store payment details.

6. Backup and your data

DrySpool is a local-only app. You alone are responsible for backing up your data via the in-app export feature. NoobVenture cannot recover data lost to device failure, accidental deletion, app uninstallation, or a corrupted backup file.

7. Moisture predictions and print outcomes

DrySpool’s moisture model is an estimate based on user-entered storage conditions, time elapsed since drying, and material absorption defaults. It is a guidance tool, not a measurement. Actual filament moisture content depends on ambient humidity, packaging integrity, drying-equipment behaviour, and other factors outside the app’s control.

NoobVenture does not guarantee print quality, dimensional accuracy, or the absence of stringing, warping, layer adhesion failures, or other defects that may result from filament moisture or any other cause. You are responsible for verifying the condition of your filament before printing.

8. Third-party hardware references

DrySpool references trademarks owned by third parties — for example Bambu Lab™, Eibos™, Sunlu™, Polymaker™, Prusament™, and others — solely to help you identify your own equipment and consumables. DrySpool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies. The Bambu RFID tag reader relies on publicly reverse-engineered formats published by community projects and may stop working without notice if those formats change.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

DrySpool is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with future versions of Android, or free from data loss. You use the app at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NoobVenture shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, DrySpool — including loss of data, failed prints, wasted filament, lost time, or business interruption. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the app or its in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim, or NOK 0 if you have not made a purchase.

11. Changes to the app

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of DrySpool at any time without notice — including individual features, supported Android versions, supported RFID tag formats, or the app itself. Where reasonably possible we will give heads-up via the in-app update flow or the Play Store listing.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The “last updated” date will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.
